About Us

"I am in His Heart" is a faith-based organization that believes in the transformative power of God's love. Our organization offers a lifeline of support and a safe haven where survivors can find refuge, rebuild their self-esteem, and begin the journey towards recovery and empowerment.

Our approach is rooted in scripture and guided by the following principles:

  • Psalm 34:18: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
  • Proverbs 31:8-9: "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy."
  • 1 Peter 3:4: "Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight."

OUR VISION

At "I am in His Heart," we envision a world where every survivor of domestic violence and abuse finds sanctuary, strength, and solace in the embrace of God’s divine love. Our vision is rooted in the belief that God's unfailing love extends to all, regardless of their past experiences or current struggles. We strive to create a community where survivors can experience the healing power of God's love and begin their journey towards restoration and wholeness.

Our vision is inspired by the following scriptures:

  • Romans 8:38-39: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
  • Psalm 147:3: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."
  • Isaiah 43:1: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.”

OUR MISSION

As an organization, our mission is to be a tangible expression of God's love for survivors of domestic violence and abuse. We are committed to providing practical assistance, emotional support, and spiritual guidance to those who have endured the trauma of abusive relationships. Our mission is founded on the belief that every individual is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and compassion.

We seek to embody the following scriptures in our mission:

  • Galatians 6:2: "Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way, you will fulfill the law of Christ."
  • 1 John 3:17-18: "If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth."
  • James 1:27: "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."

Scriptural References:

Our work is grounded in scripture and inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ. Some of the key scriptures that guide our organization include:

Matthew 25:35-40: "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'"

Isaiah 61:1-3: "The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor."

Psalm 82:3-4: "Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked."
